Where to Find Tennis Lessons in Canada

Where to Find Tennis Lessons in CanadaIf you're looking for a place where you can learn the skills needed to play the game of tennis, you can find some great deals on tennis lessons in Canada. Some of the things that you'll learn as you learn to play the game are being patient, keeping your head in the game, and the art of passing the ball. These are all crucial skills, and a lot of attention is required to make sure that you're practicing them right. There are plenty of great options available to you if you're interested in a couple of lessons with an experienced teacher.Tennis is very popular in Canada, and there are lots of options to choose from when it comes to learning how to play the game. For example, you can choose to have lessons in person or online, or even be tutored by a travel team of tutors. Tennis lessons can also be obtained through private companies, and even licensed teachers are becoming increasingly popular.Finding a teacher is not always easy, especially if you don't know anyone who's knowledgeable about tennis. Finding someone you can trust and that you can learn from will be very important. When you have someone to show you the ropes and teach you how to do things right, you'll get a lot better at playing the game than someone who hasn't been taught the right way.Finding a good tutor is easy, because you can just go to any sports store and check out all the different classes available. Many tennis classes are run through companies or have trips where people from all over Canada come to learn. Even though there may be some price difference between a person's local public school, or a public tutoring center, you're going to find that it's a much better option than simply sitting in class in a classroom.Once you've found someone that you're comfortable with, you need to decide if you want to sign up for an entire program. This may seem like a waste of money, but it can actually be a great way to ensure that you're developing skills that you 're going to use every time you go out on the court. If you decide to buy all the lessons and be coached one on one, then you won't be able to enjoy the same benefits as when you're working with a tutor in a group. You'll have the individual attention, but you're going to learn a lot more quickly.Learning the rules and techniques for a tennis lesson in Canada can be done online, or with a friend who knows the sport. You may find that a tutor online is the best choice, as the coach will keep you honest, and help you practice on your own time.Finding a place where you can find the right tennis lessons in Canada for you can be difficult. You should consider several different factors before making a decision, including your skill level, your budget, and the ability of the person you're looking to hire.

How online discussion boards and online forum help students academically

How online discussion boards and online forum help students academically 0SHARESShare Online discussion board and online forum is primarily an asynchronous environment of  online tutoring.   Typically, it offers a platform that helps to get answers to the question by giving some careful thought that you value in current practice. It offers a platform for students to work with peer sharing their knowledge, asking their queries and doubts on any academic topic and seek answers to the questions posted by them or by the peer students. However, the question how and what would be the effects on student’s learning and which students will benefit the most out of these. Participation in online discussion and forums has potential for dialogue and interactivity which gives students chance to share their knowledge or give their opinion on any matter. It promotes group activities irrespective of distances. Asynchronous tutoring with forum and discussion is good at times when students submit their work and wish that their tutors evaluate and give their comments on their work. It requires flexibility of time and location for students to put their work online and for tutors to evaluate submitted work and give their comments. It helps students and tutors to work on activities that run in parallel. Often, reputed online tutoring services makes participation in forum and discussion board compulsory for students where tutors can regularly track their regular study time apart from tutoring and routine homework. The tutor can log on and catch the student who is not get-in for day or two. Discussion board and forum posting is often proved useful for tutors and students both. Online tutors can post assignments, practice work, worksheets on this electronic communication medium. The students can log on and workout on the same and drop solutions to the given assignments. It not only fastens up the learning process but allows interacting with peers and the way they attempt to work on assignments. Asynchronous media like forum and discussion board fulfill the expectation of face-to-face interaction in terms of affective contribution, interactivity, flexibility and finally attaining the focus of the groups. Thanks to online tutoring which have geared up this platform as a new avenue for tuition! [starbox id=admin]

The Ultimate Guide To Accepting A Job Offer - Introvert Whisperer

Introvert Whisperer / The Ultimate Guide To Accepting A Job Offer - Introvert Whisperer The Ultimate Guide To Accepting A Job Offer Searching for a new job can be one of the most stressful episodes of your life. Whether you’re just out of school, coming from a company that recently downsized or are desperate to find something better, the process can consume you physically, emotionally, socially and financially. Receiving an offer of a new position can feel as though a tremendous weight has been lifted off your shoulders. However, you shouldn’t look at that moment as the final step in your journey. It can be difficult for introverted people, in particular, to go through this process â€" and the need to be more outgoing and aggressive may be necessary. If you leap at the first offer to come your way, you may regret it later. It’s a good idea to take a step back and evaluate it to make sure it’s right for you. For example, you should take the time to examine the benefits you may be eligible to receive. Certain employers may be willing to consider offering you perks such as flexible hours if you inquire. If you haven’t already, now is a good time to look into the company and see if you would be a good fit for the organizational culture or your potential superior’s management style. Depending on how satisfied you are with what is being offered, you may want to consider negotiating for more pay or better benefits. If you do so, however, you must be prepared to walk away from the deal or be ready to settle. Don’t let the stress of job-hunting force you into settling for less than you deserve. For more advice you can use to accept a new job successfully, see the accompanying guide. Conference call English vocabulary - Business English Common Phrases

Conference call English vocabulary - Business English Common Phrases Hi English Learning Students! I continue writing about business telephone conversation in English. Today lets look at conference call English vocabulary, specifically at common English phrases and words you might find useful when attending a conference call business meeting in English over the phone. Enjoyed this infographic? Here's what you can do next: How to Start a Conference Call The chairperson will usually start (kick off) the meeting with the following common expressions used in business English conversation:I would like to welcome everybody  here today. Thanks for attending.Could you all when speaking state your name clearly? Please indicate (say) which office/department you represent so that the minutes are recorded properly. How to Ask for Clarification in a Conference Call Hearing somebody and understanding them are two entirely different issues. You might hear them clearly but not understand what they are talking about or because of noise and connection issues you might simply not hear all of the points they are making. Here are some common English phrases you can use for clarification during your conference call:Could you speak more slowly please?Could you repeat that again or could you repeat that last bit please?Could you speak up please (a little louder)?Could you explain that again? Or Could you explain that in layman’s terms (non technicallanguage)?I didn’t get that I am sorry could you say it again? How to Interrupt a Formal Conference Call It is OK to interrupt a formal telephone conversation in English if you wish to ask a question. You can interrupt by using any of the following phrases:Sorry, would you mind if I asked a question?Just to clarify are you saying thatCould I interrupt you for a minute?Would you mind if I jumped in there please? Can I stop you for just one minute please? As you can see these are all usually polite statements so should not upset any one. However, sometimes in a heated (angry) exchange (discussion) the politeness may disappear. Useful Phrases - Conference Call English Vocabulary At some point in the call it may be your turn to make a presentation. Assuming you are well  prepared it should not be a problem.  However, if English is not your native tongue (language) then a  short clear presentation will help.Introduce yourself and tell them which department you represent.Start by telling them what are the key points you wish to coverAsk them to kindly hold questions until you are finished and that you will happily answer anyquestions then. Some useful English phrases to use in a business telephone conversation:I won’t keep you longI will keep this brief (short)Well, that is all I wanted to sayThat covers everything I had to sayNow, are there any questions?I am glad you asked thatThat is a really good questionLet me get back to you on that (I will give you a better answer later)Can you leave it with me? Ill find out and let you know.I think you might have misunderstood mePlease allow me to clarify it once more. When the conference call ends the chairperson will usually clarify some points and advise that minutes of the business meeting will be circulated later.  Action points will be identified and persons responsible to follow up will be notified.  The next meeting will take place: time and date to be agreed. PSAT results are out

PSAT results are out By now, most juniors should have received PSAT results from their schools.   If you’re not sure how to read your score report, here’s how it works: you have three scores, one for critical reading, one for math, and one for writing.   Those scores are added together to give you a composite score.     To get your approximate SAT score, just add a zero onto the end of each score.   Now, compare that approximate SAT score to average scores at your colleges of choice.    If you want to improve your PSAT score and get a better result on the SAT, you’re in the right place!AJ Tutoring has a fantastic individualized SAT preparation program.   We pair you one-on-one with a tutor at our Palo Alto, Saratoga, or San Jose office.   Over the course of 9 sessions, you’ll learn everything there is to know about test-taking strategies, what’s actually on the test, and how to best prepare for the big day.If you’re planning to take the March 10 SAT, there’s no time to waste!   With only 8 weeks left before the test, there’s still time to prepare, but the AJ Tutoring team is starting to fill up.   If you’d like to start tutoring for the March SAT, give Aaron or Joe a call at (650) 331-3251, or email info@ajtutoring.com.If, on the other hand, you haven’t thought about the SAT since you got those PSAT results back, now’s the time to start planning.  You should have a full round of tests (SAT, ACT, SAT subject tests) done by the end of junior year, so you can retake the tests senior year if necessary.    We would be happy to help you develop a testing plan that makes the most sense with your schedule â€" give us a call at (650) 331-3251.

italki presented at the 2014 SouthWest Conference on Language Teaching

italki presented at the 2014 SouthWest Conference on Language Teaching Erin OReilly, one of our Professional Teachers who has been teaching on italki for over a year now  recently presented Going Global: Using italki to Connect with Native Speakers at the 2014 SouthWest Conference on Language Teaching in Snowbird, Utah, USA last month. We were honored that she presented on  our behalf.  Below she shares her presentation with a guest blog post: The Changing Language Classroom April 24-26, 2014 by Erin N. OReilly Language teachers  love technology.  Arguably, they probably love technology more than teachers from most of the other traditional subject areas.  This may be because until the advent of the Internet, getting authentic language learning materials meant travelling abroad and schlepping back yellowing newspapers, outdated magazines, and bulky cassette tapes.  Talking with native speakers?  Never a possibility unless you lived in a major metropolitan city. For the past year, I have used the italki platform as a language teacher, connecting with language learners and enthusiasts around the globe. While their goals and reasons for learning a language vary widely, their passion and enthusiasm to connect with native speakers is immediately obvious. Enter italki â€" the platform that makes it all possible. This past week I had the opportunity to join with language teachers from around the South Western region of the United States at an annual language teacher conference. I shared with them the research behind live, online language lessons as well as best-practices and creative ideas to get started. As language teachers, we’ve historically been limited to classroom learning. Creating opportunities for meaningful practice with native speakers has always been limited by geography. Today the tools exist to go beyond the classroom, to connect with a world of learners and teachers. However, breaking out of the classroom mindset to engage with the language authentically and on a global scale is not something that language teachers naturally consider when designing or delivering their language courses. Looking forward, I challenge the classroom language teacher to experiment with ways to build and integrate global friendships, partnerships, and connections into the traditional curricula. As one conference attendee commented, “Wow! They’re using real language.” And this is what language learning is all about! “Wow! How to Enhance your Childs Memory - ALOHA Mind Math

How to Enhance your Childs Memory Have you ever met someone who has a photographic memory? They may have similarities to Dustin Hoffman’s character Raymond Babbit in the movie “Rain Man”, who remembers every detail in his life and remembers statistics. Much of school is progressing upon previously learned concepts, skills, and memorization. In elementary school they learn the alphabet, counting, numerals, handwriting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, just to start. Perhaps as adults we do not appreciate our memory until we cannot remember something. Imagine your children remembering concepts and techniques with ease. In junior high school they are able to express themselves and perform well on tests, including essay tests. The key is expanding upon that knowledge and drawing upon it without thinking. These are some of our objectives at ALOHA. “I think some parents try to get their kids to memorize their work by repetitively doing the same work. We are not sure how much it helps memory in general, but at least they have the problems and answers memorized,” said Shweta of ALOHA Mind Math in Mason, Ohio. What can parents do? Parents can improve their childs memory by playing games, like the Memory card games, Concentration, Pass the Secret, or Solitaire. “There are many games we play in class during break time, where we show kids some random pictures and hide them, or arrange in a particular order. Later we take another break and we ask the kids either the order of those pictures or ask them to find the pictures. We ask our parents to do that same game at home,” stated Shweta. Between fourth and sixth grade the amount of new knowledge and homework requirements compound each year, equally increasing expectations on a child’s learning. Reading researcher Michael Pressley suggests that after your child reads a textbook chapter to think about, search, and then write down the main idea. The next step is to write the corresponding facts or ideas. If there is a time span, or many details, it can be helpful to create a timetable, or diagrams charting the supporting subordinate ideas or Remembering lists can be a challenge. One memory technique is to create an acronym. To memorize the colors of the rainbow we were taught ROYGBIV, which stands for R = red, O = orange, Y = yellow, G =green, B = blue, I = Indigo, V = violet. At ALOHA we strengthen the mind and memory. The brain is divided into a left hemisphere and a right hemisphere, performing different activities on each side. Our method and curriculum improves overall brain development. We enhance their ability to visualize, focus, calculate without a calculator, increase their analytical skills and thought processes, resulting in advanced overall academic performance, translating to better grades, happier child, and family. How do you challenge your child’s memory? To locate the nearest ALOHA Mind Math center near you visit www.alohamindmath.com/locations.

OFSTED`s suggestion to overcoming exam anxiety - Tutor Hunt Blog

OFSTED`s suggestion to overcoming exam anxiety OFSTED`s suggestion to overcoming exam anxiety: don`t tell children they are actually taking a test OFSTED`s suggestion to overcoming exam anxiety: don`t tell children they are actually taking a testPrimary schoolsOfsted`s suggestion to overcoming exam anxiety: don`t tell children they are actually taking a test. Examinophobia, the fear of taking exams, is now a recognised medical condition. Also called testophobia, or exam fever, the condition is said to affect tens of thousands of pupils across the United Kingdom. The condition manifests itself as an overwhelming anxiety that descends upon a student just before, or actually during an exam. It afflicts some pupils so strongly that they simply cannot enter the exam hall, while for others it prevents them thinking lucidly during the test. This is a condition that probably everyone suffers from to some degree - very few people actually like taking exams, it`s hard to imagine the experience leaves anyone indifferent or complacent, knowing that the answers they provide during the next hour or two may very well shape the whole course of their life. A little fear is probably a good thing, as it compels you to take the examinations seriously - but if you are so nervous that you are unable to think clearly, you obviously won`t perform your best, and the grade you finally receive will be no reflection of your true ability. There are many techniques people employ to try to combat exam anxiety - a common one is to simply take more tests, to face the fear directly, and try to attenuate the condition of examinophobia through over exposure. Some schools will set their pupils past exam papers, having them sit the tests under proper exam conditions. In this way the pupils will become accustomed to the experience of sitting in silence, and taking a timed exam. If their schools do not provide the facility, many pupils will take the initiative, and acquire the past papers themselves, and sit the exam at home under strict conditions. An Ofsted chief has recently suggested a novel way to deal with exam fear, specifically the anxiety young children have when sitting their Sats. Amanda Spielman, Ofsted`s Chief Inspecter, has said that children should not even be told they are sitting the exam. In this way presumably the children will treat the test as just another classroom exercise, and their anxieties will not be triggered. She has even gone so far as to say that teachers should not talk about the exams at all, at any point during lessons, for fear of triggering anxious children. Tens of thousands of children took their Sats last week. The name stands for Statutory Assessment Tests, but they are more generally known as Standards and Testing Agency tests. They are designed to track a child`s progress throughout their schooling, and were introduced between 1991 and 1995, shortly after the National Curriculum was rolled out. Many people have called for the tests to be stopped, and The SATs for 7 year olds are actually in line to be abolished in 2023. Ms Spielman doesn`t believe all formal assessments for primary school pupils should be stopped, and her comments were presumably aimed to defend the continuation of testing young pupils. `Good primary schools manage to run key stage tests often with children not even knowing that they`re being tested,` the Ofsted Chief said. `I was in a primary school not long ago where I saw something that did concern me, where the head was going around clapping the year sixes on the shoulder saying `so are you feeling ok about the test, is everything going well for you?` I thought actually maybe that is well-meaning, but maybe that`s actually subliminally encouraging children to feel anxious. So there is something really important about how we do these things.` There is a growing feeling that primary school pupils are being put under too much pressure, that they are developing a host of psychological problems due to the stress and apprehension of taking important examinations at such a young age. Labour have promised to abolish Sats exams completely, along with scrapping the baseline examinations that four years olds currently take when entering primary school. Jeremy Corbyn is reportedly extremely concerned about the unhealthy levels of stress young children face at school, and has vowed to end the `regime of extreme pressure testing.` 9 months ago0Add a Comment
